Harrisburg – Oct. 29, 2014 – State Sen. Jim Brewster (D-Allegheny/Westmoreland), in conjunction with the Consumer Health Care Coalition, will be holding an information session at Penn-State Greater Allegheny on Nov. 5 to assist families in obtaining health care insurance through the federal Affordable Care Act.

“The Consumer Health Coalition will be on hand to help families gain an understanding of the insurance coverage that is available and get insurance through the federal insurance marketplace,” Brewster said.  “I encourage those who need health insurance to attend and learn about how the new federal law and state policy changes may help.”

Brewster said that the session will include information on open enrollment, how to enroll and places where those interested may go for assistance.  Information about Healthy PA will also be available, including how the Medical Assistance reforms, that are a part of the state initiative, can help those eligible to enroll.

The session is on Wednesday, Nov. 5 in the Ostermayer Room, Penn State Greater Allegheny Student Community Center, 4050 University Drive, McKeesport from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The public is invited to the session.  To reserve a seat, residents should RSVP to Kathy Jo Osman at 412-664-5200 or [email protected]
