Vaccine Clinic Available to Uninsured in Westmoreland County
On August 9, 2013
Harrisburg, August 9, 2013 – State Sen. Jim Brewster (D-Allegheny/Westmoreland) announced the start of a public immunization clinic in Westmoreland County. The program begins on Tuesday, Aug. 13.
The Pennsylvania Department of Health will host the monthly clinics to vaccinate adults and children at its Southwest District Office in Greensburg at 233 W. Otterman St.
“Public health is one of my top priorities,” Brewster said. “I encourage uninsured or underinsured families to take advantage of this opportunity for preventive care.”
Vaccines are available at low or no cost if the patient has no health insurance or is underinsured. The clinic will be open every second Tuesday of the month from August to December. Immunizations are by appointment only and can be scheduled between 9-11 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.
Call the Pennsylvania Department of Health at 724-832-5315 to schedule an appointment.
